Overview

The very first restaurant to bear the Sonic name was right here on Main Street in Stillwater! Opened in 1959, Sonic offered "Service with the Speed of Sound" with drive-in stalls, intercom ordering and roller-skating car hops. Locals and visitors alike flocked to this hotspot for the ever-popular cherry limeades, chili-cheese coneys, tater tots and ice cream treats.

The restaurant itself was remodeled in 2015 but the original sign still stands as a testament to the storied past of this iconic chain of over 3,500 locations that all began here. The remodeled location includes a large, covered patio that seats 31 as well as an outdoor fire feature and three large-screen TVs for customers' enjoyment.

Stop by when you're in town for refreshing drinks that can be customized in a myriad of ways, served over the famous Sonic ice, burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings and all kinds of scrumptious treats. You can even take a photo with the first Sonic sign!
