The Veteran Motor Car Club of America’s (VMCCA) 2016 Okla-Chroma Glidden Tour will be in Stillwater from June 12-17.  Approximately 40 antique cars manufactured between 1935-1990 and their drivers from all over the country and abroad will be cruising across Oklahoma and returning each evening to the Wyndham Garden Stillwater Hotel. This year’s Okla-Chroma tour includes at least one driver from Paris, France, where he will ship his antique vehicle after participating in the Stillwater-based event.

The Okla-Chroma Glidden Tour is a VMCCA annual national tour boasting vintage vehicles which are originally preserved or restored, allowing them to take on the modern countryside roads of Oklahoma. The participants will be welcomed on Sunday, June 12 with a hotel banquet to kick off their stay. Stillwater residents and visitors will witness the fleet leaving for each day-long adventure to surrounding communities and making their nightly return through town during the week, where they will park for the night at the Wyndham Garden Stillwater Hotel.  “Visitors are welcome to view the cars at the Hotel in the evenings.  Car owners are pleased to show off and discuss their vehicles,” stated Gayle and Randy Dekker of Edmond, OK, Tour Directors.  The closing banquet is Friday evening, June 17.

The purpose of the VMCCA is to encourage the preservation, restoration and use of antique and historically significant automobiles.  It is a national touring club, specializing in several touring events each year where the cars are driven to interesting places, meeting new people and visiting old friends in the process.
