WACO, Texas — The National Collegiate Equestrian Association released its 2017-18 preseason coaches poll today, and Oklahoma State checked in at No. 4 in the rankings.
The No. 4 ranking marks the highest OSU has been in the preseason NCEA polls since 2014, and the Cowgirls enter the season as the highest ranked Big 12 Conference team, with Baylor coming in at No. 5 and TCU right behind them at No. 6.
Coach Larry Sanchez’ squad returns last year’s NCEA Reining Rider of the Year in sophomore Hannah Mitchell as well as six NCEA All-Americans from a 2016-17 team that finished second at the Big 12 Championships.
The Cowgirls will face seven ranked opponents this season, including Baylor, which they take on in the season opener in Stillwater on October 7.
