Stillwater’s Visitor Information Center provides a physical location where the traveling public can acquire information about our community. Visitor and resident traffic to the Stillwater Visitor Information Center has exceeded expectations and the benefits of the center to Stillwater has been multi-faceted.
Local hospitality information is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which has proven to be extremely convenient and useful for visitors to our community. Additionally, local business persons who have provided information to distribute from our Visitor Information Center have seen new faces from across the country visit their place of business. Over the years, Visit Stillwater has also evolved into the trusted source and go-to location for relocation and employee recruitment material.
Information provided in the center could very well be the only information a visitor has to educate them in regard to what our community has to offer for lodging, dining, and entertainment. Visit Stillwater provides as much information as possible to make a visitor’s decision-making process as easy as possible. Therefore, the more information we have to enable a visitor to make the decision to stay for dinner, to shop or spend the night, the more we all benefit.
While the Visitor Information Center currently supplies a great deal of local hospitality industry information, we would encourage any business that caters to visitors to supply us with information to entice longer and return visits to Stillwater. A rack card with a map from the visitor center to your place of business would be extremely effective. Coupons for local retailers or restaurants are extremely tempting to visitors when making dining or shopping decisions.
Additionally, if you are involved in locally held events, it is always a good idea to provide event flyers and posters for display within the Visitor Information Center. The poster should always include phone numbers and websites that visitors can use to access additional information while in our community, or when making plans to return to Stillwater in the future.
If you are unclear about the type of information that would be the most effective for you to produce for distribution, stop by the Visitor Information Center to see what is currently on display. The Visit Stillwater team is also available with suggestions for format and content that will most benefit your place of business and the visitor experience while in our community.
