Bought in the 1980's by Gayla Higgins, who continued on the Shortcakes name as a family legacy and Stillwater icon. Higgins was no stranger to the restaurant business with ten years in the food industry across Oklahoma. Her 6 children grew up working in the family business as well.
Shortcakes Diner plates up the best of comfort food cuisine with breakfast 24/7 to go along with their round-the-clock hours. Jaime Roberts, General Manager with 10 years at Shortcakes under her belt said, " We are like family here. We have a night shift employee who has been with us for eleven years." Family is how you will be treated, as the friendly staff greet you with a smile and quickly offer a cup of coffee. "Many of our regulars come in everyday," Roberts added.
One of their most popular menu items is the Country Breakfast, served up with 2 eggs, hash browns, a choice of ham, bacon or sausage and waffles, pancakes or french toast.
Their lunch special varies daily from 11AM-2PM for $6.95 and daily specials can be seen on their Facebook page. Shortcakes in open daily, 24/7 and is located at 219 N Main St.
