The holidays have arrived in America’s Friendliest College Town! In the heart of the community, you will find the featured event of the season, Merry Main Street! You won’t want to miss the exciting weekends of cheer, wonder, and fun!
The highlight of Merry Main Street is the unique shopping in the geometric domes on Block 34. Different vendors will participate each weekend, so you will want to come back to see them all and find gifts for everyone on your list! You can also sign up to attend the weekly classes offered in the hospitality dome. From holiday cocktails to chocolate making, these are perfect for a girl’s night out or date night.
While you are Downtown, be sure to drive down Main Street to see a dazzling display of over 85,000 lights set to music spanning from 4th Street beyond the roundabout to 14th Street. The hub of the show is Chris Salmon Plaza, with bright panels of animated lights, and Provalue.net with their large Christmas tree atop their building. Tune in to 87.9 FM to sing along to holiday favorites as you watch the lights dance.
There is nothing like the smell of a live Christmas tree to add some extra magic to your home! Bring the family to pick your beautiful tree at the Disel Tree Farm area. On select nights, you can also catch Santa Claus in his house. Bring your camera and your Christmas list to capture each special moment! Both of these great activities can be found on Block 34.
Merry Main Street will also showcase special events during the holidays! For lots of family fun, bring the kids to enjoy some delicious sweets during Cookies with Cops on December 11th, and S’mores with Firemen on December 18th. On Saturdays, you can enjoy a free carriage ride through historic Downtown Stillwater from 3:00 – 9:00 pm. Bring your blanket and bundle up as Domino guides you around town in this festive experience. If you get cold during your ride, the Stillwater High School SMAC will be selling hot chocolate in the airstream trailer at select times.
