Stillwater’s Destination Marketing Organization, Visit Stillwater, in partnership with the City of Stillwater and Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, plans to welcome the availability of ice skating in downtown Stillwater this upcoming holiday season. The holiday attraction will enhance family-friendly activities in Stillwater to keep resident dollars in the local economy and increase visitor spending daily Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. The rink will be located in the heart of the community – downtown Stillwater on Block 34, or known as Stillwater’s Winter Wonderland over the holidays.

Stillwater’s Winter Wonderland will be the central location for an outdoor 102’ x 48’ temporary ice rink, Santa’s Workshop, and the opportunity to board a carriage to ride around downtown Stillwater to scope out many of the holiday shopping and dining locations within the area. If Santa can spare all of his reindeer leading up to the holidays, they have also been invited back to Stillwater this year to provide a fun, live, reindeer experience for the whole family. There will be an abundance of photo opportunities that will make for great Christmas cards and framed photos for those difficult-to-buy-for family members.

The rink will be open to the public daily, November 24 through January 1. The hours of operation for each day of the week will be confirmed in August. There will also be the opportunity to rent the ice skating rink outside of regular operating hours for corporate parties, birthday parties, and sorority and fraternity date nights.

Various ice skating rink sponsorship opportunities are available for local partners which will ensure ice happens in downtown Stillwater. With sufficient sponsorships, the plan is to offer ice skating at only $10 per person, which is among the most affordable in the state. The expectation is to host the most successful rink in the region, which will support the availability of an ice skating rink Stillwater residents, OSU students, and visitors can expect to enjoy annually.
