Hazel Modella Art Gallery
This gallery, sitting in Historic Downtown Stillwater, is a nonprofit gallery and event space that hosts contemporary art, which is art created from the 1970s until now. Not only is the gallery full of inspiring art to see, but Modella also hosts a variety of events. They have Makers Market, where artists sell their handmade crafts and creations, and they have live music every 3rd Friday of the month.
OSU Museum of Art
The goal of the OSU Museum of Art is to enhance education and research, making it the perfect place for students and the community to come and learn about unique art. Here, they host many different programs and exhibitions, so make sure to keep up with their website to find out more. This year, they’ve also teamed up with Pete’s Pet Posse to bring their therapy dogs around for people to pet while they enjoy all of the art the museum has to offer. And, every second Saturday, you can come in to participate in hands-on art activities.
Prairie Arts Center
Part of Oklahoma State University, the Prairie Arts Center hosts a variety of adult and kids' art classes. With both free and paid classes, it’s easy to find something to spark your artistic interest and unleash that creativity. Ever tried throwing pottery or crafting a painting from a blank canvas? Looking to switch it up? Take a class on creating your very own Christmas tree skirt. Prairie Arts Center has it all, and they’re thrilled to teach everyone.
StillyArts
StillyArts also hosts a variety of amazing classes. From painting to dance, get your creativity flowing with a wide range of workshops and activities designed to bring your artistic side to life. With so many engaging options to choose from, it’s easy to find something exciting to try, including black light painting, ceramics glazing, and more. Themed paint nights are also offered on Fridays, including favorites like Paint & Sip and Paint & Pizza. Plus, StillyArts doubles as a venue. Rent out the space for birthdays or other special gatherings and create some unforgettable memories.
Gardiner Gallery of Art
Located on the OSU campus, the Gardiner Gallery of Art is inside the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts. The art hosted here is always focused on emerging and mid-career artists, making this gallery full of fresh, new art very unique. The Gardiner Gallery puts on a yearly suite of student shows, giving these new artists one of their first chances to have their art displayed and viewed by the public. To visit this beautiful gallery, you can pop in Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or you can make a Saturday appointment on the OSU Gardiner Gallery of Art website.
