STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s Alana Wolfberg and Sofia Rojas advanced to the singles semifinals at the ITA Central Region Championships at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Sunday.  

  

Singles commenced in the afternoon with Wolfberg completing an extraordinary comeback as she defeated Oklahoma’s Alexandra Pisareva, 7-5, 6-2. Next, Rojas picked up a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Ange Oby Kajura from Iowa State. Raquel Gonzalez fell to Arkansas’ Carolina Gomez Alonso in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.  

 

In doubles, Ayumi Miyamoto and Kristina Novak lost to Oklahoma’s Emma Staker and Pisareva in a close matchup, 8-7 (5), while Wolfberg and Gonzalez fell to Julia Garcia Ruiz and Dana Guzman, 8-5.  

  

The Cowgirls will be back in action tomorrow with the pair of singles semifinals starting at 10 a.m.
