OKLAHOMA CITY –– With less than 75 days until the Tokyo Olympic Games, USA Softball has added four exhibition contests for the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) in addition to the previously announced “Stand Beside Her” tour stops in Midland, Texas June 11-12 and Sugar Land, Texas June 19-20.  Team USA will head to Stillwater, Okla. June 2, June 6 and June 7 in addition to making a stop at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex on June 4 as the world-ranked No. 1 U.S. WNT will take on the USSSA Pride in a four-game exhibition series. The games are a part of the “Stand Beside Her” tour, presented by Major League Baseball (MLB), and will provide much-needed preparation for the Tokyo Olympic Games where the sport of softball returns to the Olympic Program for the first time since 2008.

 

“We are so excited for our Women’s National Team to make a stop in Oklahoma as they continue preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games,” said USA Softball Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Craig Cress. “We thank Oklahoma State for opening their stadium to us as well as the USSSA Pride for providing our athletes with the opportunity to face high-level competition. Additionally, it is an honor to welcome these athletes to our newly renovated Hall of Fame Complex, especially during the Women’s College World Series. It’s going to be a great week of softball.”

 

Set to be held at Cowgirl Stadium (701 Duck St., Stillwater, Okla.) the Red, White and Blue will kick off the June “Stand Beside Her” tour stops on Wednesday, June 2 with a 6 p.m. CT solo contest against the USSSA Pride before heading to the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex on Friday, June 4 for game two of the four-game series. Played at the Softball Capital of the World®, Team USA will square off against the Pride at 11 a.m. CT before the 2021 NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS) begins its evening session. The WNT will round out the four-game series against the Pride back at Cowgirl Stadium on June 6–7 with a 5 p.m. CT matchup on Sunday, June 6 and a 12 p.m. contest on Monday, June 7.

 

Cowgirl Stadium and the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex will operate at 100 percent capacity for all four games. As advised by local health authorities and USA Softball, fans in attendance are highly encouraged to wear a face covering and practice physical distancing while inside the complex.

Tickets for the game held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex will go on sale to NCAA WCWS season ticket holders at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, June 1 while general public ticket sales will be available at 11 a.m. CT on Wednesday, June 2. The Red, White and Blue will continue preparations June 11-12 in Midland, Texas with four exhibition contests against “Team Alliance”, which will be made up of collegiate and/or professional athletes supported by The Alliance Fastpitch member leagues. Played at Momentum Park, the WNT will compete in a doubleheader on Friday, June 11 beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT followed by another doubleheader on Saturday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. CT. Game two for both days will take place approximately 35 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on midlandrockhounds.org.

 

The “Stand Beside Her” tour, presented by MLB will conclude its June tour stops in Sugar Land, Texas June 19-20 as Team USA is set to compete in another pair of doubleheaders against “Team Alliance”. Played at Constellation Field, home of the Sugar Land Skeeters, Team USA will kick off on Saturday, June 19 with a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. CT followed by another doubleheader on Sunday, June 20 at 1 p.m. CT.
