(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / October 31, 2018) —Oklahoma State Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Dave Smith announced the 2018-19 indoor track and field schedule Wednesday, which features a change of scenery at the conference meet for the first time in seven years.

Texas Tech takes over hosting duties for the Big 12 Indoor Championships in their new facility, the Sports Performance Center, which opened in October 2017. This is the first year since 2012 the conference meet won’t be held in Ames, Iowa.

On the national stage, the NCAA Indoor Championships return to Birmingham, Alabama, for the first time since 2016. The last time the meet was hosted in Birmingham, Alabama, Kaela Edwards won the indoor Mile championship.

For the fifth consecutive year, OSU send groups to four different meets on the same weekend. On Feb. 8 and 9, Cowboys and Cowgirls will make appearances in Seattle, Lubbock, Albuquerque and Ames.

OSU’s indoor season kicks off on Dec. 1 in Lawrence, Kansas, for the Bob Timmons Challenge. OSU will follow up with two trips to Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a trip to Norman to start the new year.
