The Mystery Deepens at Town & Gown Theatre with “And Then There Were None”

If the thought of solving a murder mystery of the highest order gets your blood pumping and your heart racing, you won’t want to miss Town & Gown Theatre’s upcoming production of “And Then There Were None.”  Based on acclaimed novelist Agatha Christie’s most famous work, “And Then There Were None” tells the pulse-pounding tale of ten strangers who have been summoned to a remote island where each has been marked for murder.

The only thing these guests all have in common is wicked pasts they’re unwilling to reveal and secrets that will seal their fates.  Considered among Christie’s darkest tales and a masterpiece of dramatic construction, its growing sense of dread and unfaltering tension will keep you guessing to the very end.

The cast of “And Then There Were None” includes several Town & Gown veterans and a couple of new faces, as follows:

Rogers – played by Aaron Carmichael

Mrs. Rogers – played by Andrea Maciula Peters

Fred Narracott – played by Aaron Fowler

Vera Claythorne – played by Sydney Wehmeyer

Philip Lombard – played by Timothy Cole

Anthony Marston – played by Reed Bonge

William Blore – played by Brian Harrison

General MacKenzie – played by Jack Hodgson

Emily Brent – played by Hilary Hunt

Sir Lawrence Wargrave – played by Christopher Weimer

Dr. Armstrong – played by Kyle Thederahn

When asked about her motivation for bringing “And Then There Were None” to the Town & Gown stage, director Cindy Sheets explained, “I had been thinking of submitting a thriller, so naturally Agatha Christie was at the top of my list of candidates to investigate. After reading many scripts, I settled on “And Then There Were None” because it satisfied my mental list of what makes a thriller fun - great characters with lots of substance for the actors to work with, an interesting time in history, a menacing setting, and a script full of clues. The play “And Then There Were None,” based on what's reported to be the world's best-selling mystery novel, is a proven audience favorite. Our audiences have loved trying to work through the clues in mysteries Town & Gown has staged in the past, so I thought they might like a shot at unraveling this one.”

“And Then There Were None” will run from September 28 – October 1 and October 5 – 8.  Thursday through Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows start at 2:30 p.m.  Tickets go on sale Monday September 25 at 11:00 a.m. and can be purchased by visiting the theater’s Web site at www.townandgown.org or by calling the box office at (405) 372-9122.  Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for students, and $14 for seniors (over age 65).
