(Stillwater, Oklahoma / May 11, 2017) – The Junior Hereford Association of Oklahoma is set to host the Red Dirt Rendezvous Regional Preview Hereford show June 1-3, 2017 at the Payne County Expo Center. Cattle will begin arriving to the Payne County Expo Center June 1.

The Oklahoma Hereford Association and Junior Hereford Association of Oklahoma (JHAO) hosted this event six times prior to this year in Stillwater. During this show, junior exhibitors will be traveling from surrounding states to compete for the Champion title. More than 40 exhibitors will bring their bulls, heifers and steers to compete.

“This is a way for young people to get another chance in the show ring before the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE),” said Rindy Bacon, President of the Oklahoma Hereford Association. “But it isn’t just about the show ring, it is about the opportunity for juniors to develop a skill set that will prepare them for the real world in a fun environment.”

This three-day event will also be the preliminary rounds for Oklahoma juniors to compete in contests that will qualify them to compete at the Junior National Hereford Expo that is set to be held July 15-21 in Louisville, Ky. Juniors will have the chance to compete in a team sales contest, speech contest, grooming contest, quiz bowl and a queen, princess and sweetheart competition.

Early entry deadline for this show is May 25, 2017, but exhibitors will be able to enter when they arrive on June 1.
