OSU’s Fire Protection Society and Firefighter Combat Challenge Team will host the 2022 Memorial 9/11 Stair Climb inside Boone Pickens Stadium on Sept. 11. Participants, including OSU students, faculty and staff, as well as firefighters from the surrounding area and across the country, will climb the equivalent of 110 stories in honor of firefighters and emergency personnel who responded at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

BACKGROUND: OSU has hosted the memorial stair climb for over 10 years, but this year’s event marks the first time it has been held inside Boone Pickens Stadium. The Fire Protection Society, which is unique to Oklahoma State University and founded in 1937, is the oldest student organization on campus. The OSU Firefighter Combat Challenge is the nation’s only university-based firefighting competition team.
