STILLWATER – Oklahoma State cross country held its spots in the top 5 of the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.

 

The Cowgirls remained at No. 3 in the rankings after their second-place finish at the Weis-Crockett Invitational this past Saturday. Billah Jepkirui took home the individual title at the invitational with the sixth-fastest 6K time on the new iteration of the state-of-the-art Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course, clocking a time of 20:15.3.

 

On the men’s side, the Cowboys held their spot at No. 4 in the newest polls after competing at the Weis-Crockett Invitational. Ryan Schoppe led the way for OSU, earning a seventh-place finish with a time of 23:39.9, his personal best on his home course.

 

The Cowgirls and Cowboys return to the course to defend their 2021 Big 12 Championship titles on Friday, Oct. 28, for the Big 12 Cross Country Championships held at the Lubbock Christian Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas.
