(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / June 5, 2019) –Oklahoma State’s women’s tennis team is one of 15 teams set to host the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kick-Off Weekend event next January, marking the fifth year in a row the Cowgirls have hosted the event.
The No. 12 Cowgirls will be the top seed in the region along with two top-25 programs in No. 23 Wake Forest and No. 25 Ohio Stateas well as 37th-ranked San Diego. The 2020 Kick-Off is set for Jan. 24-27 at the Greenwood Tennis Center with the winner of each regional advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, slated for Feb. 7-10 at the XS Tennis Village in Chicago, Ill.
OSU has won five of the last six ITA Kick-Off Weekends it has competed in, with its most recent coming in 2019 at home against Virginia and Kansas.
Oklahoma State finished the 2019 season at 21-8 after reaching the NCAA Super Regional round in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Pokes graduated three standout seniors in Sofia Blanco, Katarina Stresnakova and Marina Guinart but return four starters and a highly-touted 2019 signing class.
