STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State defensive end Trace Ford was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week Monday for his performance in OSU’s 63-7 win over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

It marks the first career Big 12 weekly honor for Ford, who blocked UAPB’s first punt attempt of the game and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown. The play was OSU’s first blocked punt return for a touchdown since September 15, 2018, against Boise State.

Ford was also credited with a quarterback hurry and a third-down pass breakup in the game.

OSU now ranks second among FBS teams with 30 blocked kicks since the beginning of the 2013 season, and the Cowboys are also tied for first in the FBS in non-offensive touchdowns since the beginning of the 2020 season with 11.

Ford and the Cowboys return to action Saturday, October 1, facing Baylor in the first road game of the 2022 season.
