The Longest Day of Golf features an elite list of celebrity golfers and is on track to be the biggest fundraising event to date for the OSU Coaches vs. Cancer program. The list of celebrities confirmed to play in the event includes ESPN commentators John Anderson and Bryndon Manzer, CBS Sports announcer Doug Gottlieb, former OSU Cowboys turned Dallas Cowboys Brandon Weeden and Dan Bailey, touring golf professionals Chris Tidland, Jonathan Moore and Karin Sjodin, OSU Football head coach Mike Gundy, OSU Women’s Basketball head coach Jim Littell and OSU Men’s Basketball head coach Travis Ford.

Just prior to the 11:00 a.m. shot gun start, celebrities will be auctioned off to play with the teams.

The inaugural year of the Longest Day of Golf is dedicated to the memory of Matt Allen, an OSU graduate who died in 2013 at the age of 46 from brain cancer. Allen’s remarkable fight against the disease and his commitment to raise funds for OSU’s Coaches vs. Cancer program in his final years is the inspiration for the Longest Day of Golf.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. OSU’s multi-sport Coaches vs. Cancer program is one of the most successful in the nation. Since 1993, the OSU Coaches vs. Cancer campaign has raised nearly $1 million in the fight against cancer. Oklahoma State consistently ranks among the top 10 nationally in dollars raised each season and leads the Big XII Conference.

Tournament organizers are accepting golfing teams and sponsorships. Tournament size is limited and registrations will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Spectator tickets are also available for purchase. Go to osucvcgolf.com for details.
