(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / June 7, 2018) – For the fourth-straight year, the Oklahoma State women’s tennis team will serve as one of the 15 hosts for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Kickoff Weekend next season, the organization announced Thursday.

The No. 14 Cowgirls will be the top seed in the region, which also includes three other top-25 teams in No. 18 Kansas, No. 20 Illinois and No. 23 Virginia. The event is set for Jan. 25 and 26 at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The winner of each regional will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 8-11 in Seattle, Wash.

The Cowgirls have won four of the last five ITA Kickoff Weekends. Their most recent win came in 2017 when they knocked off Cornell and TCU in Stillwater on the way to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in New Haven, Conn.

OSU finished the 2018 season at 20-5 after advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh-straight season. Faced with the loss of senior standouts Vladica Babic and Megan McCray, the Cowgirls return a trio of seniors-to-be in 2019, including doubles All-American Sofia Blanco as well as Marina Guinart and Katarina Stresnakova, who both recorded over 25 wins during their junior campaigns.
