STILLWATER – Oklahoma State rose to No. 5 in Tuesday’s NCEA rankings, up two spots from last week.
The Cowgirls are in the midst of a three-meet win streak, their longest of the season. The streak started with a win at home over No. 6 Georgia before beating No. 8 Baylor in Waco, marking OSU’s first road win of the season. The latest Oklahoma State win came against No. 3 TCU in Stillwater on Saturday. Riley Hogan earned Fences MOP honors for the second time this season in the Cowgirl victory over the Horned Frogs.
The win on Saturday improved OSU to 5-3 on the season while giving them control of the Big 12, sitting at 4-1 in conference play.
Both of Oklahoma State’s opponents this weekend made appearances in the rankings, with Fresno State at No. 9 and UC Davis at No. 10.
The Cowgirls will head west for a two-meet road trip in California this weekend, first taking on No. 9 UC Davis on Friday before facing Big 12 foe and 10th-ranked Fresno State on Saturday. OSU has only met UC Davis twice in program history, winning both times. The Cowgirls have also fared well against Fresno State, winning 12 of 14 meetings all-time, including the last six in a row.
The remainder of the OSU’s schedule beyond this weekend includes its regular-season finale against the University of Lynchburg in a meet that will consist of Jumping Seat events only. The Cowgirls will then look to defend their Big 12 title when they host the conference tournament in Stillwater in late March before attempting to defend their NCEA National Title in Ocala, Florida, in April.
