(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / August 31, 2017) – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team has unveiled the conference portion of its 2017-18 schedule with the league-wide announcement of games by the Big 12 Conference today.
The conference slate features a double round robin format for the seventh-consecutive year consisting of 18 games with squads playing each other twice. The team(s) that finishes with the highest winning percentage in league games will be crowned the Big 12 regular season champion.
Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena will host the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship for the sixth time. The women’s championship will remain in Oklahoma City through the 2019 campaign. The annual tournament is set for Friday, March 2, through Monday, March 5.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 17-win campaign that saw them earn their 11th consecutive postseason berth, with OSU appearing in the WNIT for the sixth time in program history a year ago.
OSU will open league play on Dec. 28 in Lubbock against Texas Tech before returning home to face Kansas State on Dec. 31. After a Jan. 3 road trip to Austin to face Texas, the Cowgirls will return home for the first installment of The Bedlam Series against Oklahoma on Jan. 7.
Head coach Jim Littell’s squad will make the trip to Kansas State on Jan. 13 before a home date with West Virginia on Jan. 17. After traveling to Norman to face Oklahoma on Jan. 20, OSU will host Iowa State and Texas Tech on Jan. 24 and Jan. 27, respectively.
OSU will play three of its next four games on the road with a Jan. 31 tilt at Baylor preceding a home game on Feb. 3 with Kansas. The Cowgirls will then play at TCU on Feb. 7 and at Iowa State on Feb. 10 before coming home to take on Baylor on Feb. 13 and Texas four days later.
A Feb. 21 contest at Kansas followed by a Feb. 24 matchup with West Virginia in Morgantown will close out the Cowgirls’ road slate.
OSU will wrap up its regular season on Feb. 26 when TCU pays a visit to Gallagher-Iba Arena.
