(STILLWATER, Okla. Sept. 6, 2016)  – Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith revealed the team’s schedule for the 2016-17 campaign on Tuesday.

OSU will look to build on the 2015-16 season, in which the Cowboys celebrated 100 years of wrestling history as well as 25 years of John Smith at the helm of the program, ending the season with a second-place finish at NCAAs, a 50th team conference championship, six All-Americans, two NCAA individual champions and a Hodge Trophy recipient.

The Cowboys will open up the 2016-17 schedule with a three-dual road trip, beginning on Nov. 6 when they’ll travel to Miami, Okla., to match up with Bucknell at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. Later that month, the team will head to Minneapolis, Minn., to face off with Minnesota before returning to open the month of December with a Bedlam contest in Norman on Dec. 2.

The 2016-17 home opener is set for Dec. 4, when Pittsburgh will travel to Stillwater for a matchup with the Pokes. The Cowboys are then set to host Cornell for the first time ever on Dec. 16 in Gallagher-Iba Arena before capping off 2016 with the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nev., on Dec. 18.

After competing at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn., from Jan. 1-2, OSU opens up a three-match homestand beginning with a marquee showdown with Iowa on Jan. 15 in Stillwater. West Virginia (Jan. 20) and South Dakota State (Jan. 22) round out that homestand, before the Cowboys head back out on the road to face Missouri (Jan. 27), Iowa State (Jan. 29), Edinboro (Feb. 3) and Kent State (Feb. 4).

Wyoming is set to head to Stillwater Feb. 10 before Oklahoma travels to Gallagher-Iba on Feb. 12. Wrapping up the regular season on Feb. 19 will be the NWCA Bowl Dual Series, hosted in Stillwater.

Postseason action is set to begin March 4-5 with the Big 12 Tournament coming to Tulsa. Saint Louis, Mo., will host the 2017 NCAA Championships from March 16-18.
