STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men’s tennis team went a perfect 8-0 on day one of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals main draw on Thursday in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  

 

With the wins, each Cowboy advanced from the round of 64 to the round of 32.  

 

Leighton Allen won his first matchup in the round of 128, defeating Creighton's Shin Inoue, 6-1, 4-6 and 6-1.  

 

After getting a first-round bye, Alessio Basile, Francisco Pini, Carl Roothman and Chase Ferguson took commanding victories over their opponents, winning in straight sets to advance to the round of 32.  

 

Alex Garcia battled for his win. After losing the first set, 7-5, he immediately bounced back in the second with a 6-4 win. In the third set, it took a tiebreaker for Garcia to outlast Mikhail Korkunov of Nebraska-Omaha, 7-4.  

 

Becroft claimed sets one and three against Oral Roberts' Jonathan Evans, earning the win and advancing.  

 

In his second match of the day, Allen bounced back after losing the first set, 4-6. In the second, Allen took a 7-5 victory before winning the final set, 6-1, moving to the round of 32.  

 

The Cowboys will all play in the round of 32 starting tomorrow, with times to be announced.
