STILLWATER, Okla. – Kicking off the 2022 season, the Oklahoma State men’s cross country team took home the team title in the Cowboy Preview, highlighted by Alex Stitt at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course on Thursday.

 

The Cowgirls also competed in the women’s 3k, claiming a fourth-place finish.

 

For the second consecutive year, the Cowboys won the race. Stitt was the first athlete to cross the finish line in the 5k, with a time of 14:54.9. His first-place finish marked the second year in a row an OSU athlete won the race.

 

Following Stitt was Will Muirhead, a fourth-place finisher, crossing in 14:57.1. Jonas Price was next for the Pokes, coming in fifth to put three Cowboys in the top five.

 

Also contributing to the win was Juan Diego Castro, who came in eighth.

 

For the women’s, Maddie Salek led the way, coming in third with a time of 10:42.1. Krystal Rodriguez, Taylor Somers and Colleen Stegmann finished in 10th, 12th and 19th, respectively, contributing to the team’s performance.

 

Looking ahead, Oklahoma State competes in the Cowboy Jamboree on September 24 in Stillwater, Okla.
