STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State University Hockey will face the University of Oklahoma in Bedlam on Ice, a historic outdoor hockey matchup scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2027, at 6 p.m. at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.
For the first time in its history, Boone Pickens Stadium will host a hockey game, transforming Oklahoma State's iconic football venue into an outdoor ice hockey setting. The event will bring the Bedlam rivalry to one of the state's most recognizable stadiums, offering fans a unique opportunity to experience collegiate hockey in Stillwater.
The Cowboys and Sooners previously met at the BOK Center in Tulsa in February 2026, where more than 15,000 tickets were sold and Oklahoma State secured a 13-2 victory. The Cowboys later advanced to the American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 2 national championship game.
"Playing hockey in Boone Pickens Stadium is something you don't get to do twice," OSU Hockey captain Kaden Nelson said. "There's going to be a lot of noise that night. A lot of people are going to come to see something they've never seen before. "
The outdoor rink will be installed over the stadium's football playing surface, with plans to make the ice available for public skating in the days leading up to the game. Additional information regarding public skating opportunities and game-day activities will be announced closer to the event.
"This is a historic event that reflects the remarkable growth of Cowboy Hockey in recent years," OSU Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said. "Our students, alumni, fans, community and state will be able to see on full display the bold innovation of OSU Hockey and watch Bedlam in Boone Pickens Stadium."
In collaboration with Visit Stillwater, promotional efforts will highlight the event and encourage visitors to experience Stillwater's hotels, restaurants, shopping and local attractions throughout the weekend. Visit Stillwater will assist with regional promotion through its newsletter, social media platforms and travel publications.
A special Bedlam on Ice travel giveaway is also being planned in coordination with Visit Stillwater, featuring a complimentary hotel stay and two tickets to the game. Additional giveaway details will be announced once finalized.
Tickets are available now through the Oklahoma State Ticket Office, starting at $28. Discounted group ticket options are available for purchases of 15 or more, providing opportunities for businesses, youth hockey organizations, schools and community groups to experience the event together. Oklahoma State students will be admitted free.
