(STILLWATER, Okla. June 2, 2016) Find out what goes into making Oklahoma State University’s main campus one of the most beautiful in the nation and pick up some tips of your own on Saturday, June 18, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the 2nd Annual Behind-the-Scenes OSU Campus Beautification Conference.
You’ll learn about campus gardens, plants and maintenance from the experts who designed, installed and continue to care for them regularly. Choose from tours including one that features trees, shrubs and perennial identification, another focusing on seasonal colors, or an ornamental edibles tour.
“The tours are the highlight of the morning since they are geared to help with plant identification, site selection and placement. Of course, the wrap-up session at the end of the morning will help us tie it all together and provide some additional behind-the-scenes gardening tips,” said Steve Dobbs, OSU grounds and landscape manager. “We’ll provide plenty of water for participants on the walking tours, and should it rain, we’ll switch to indoor power point tours, so everyone will gain ideas for design and maintenance of landscapes that have proven successful for us on campus.”
The conference will also feature educational seminars, plant trial opportunities, gardening experts and refreshments. Educational displays will offer information on irrigation, forestry, turfgrass, proper planting and pests.
Pre-register between now and June 13 online for only $20 here or after the deadline for $30.
