(STILLWATER, Okla.) –This holiday season, The McKnight Center announces The Swingles on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 pm. The Grammy® Award-winning a cappella vocal group will perform a banquet of music to keep out the cold, with folk- and jazz-inspired original songs served alongside traditional carols and festive favorites. The Swinglesʼ crystalline vocals evoke icebound worlds, blankets of snow and fireside singalongs.

American vocalist and jazz musician Ward Swingle founded The Swingles in France in 1962. The London-based ensemble includes seven vocalists from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Italy. The group has earned 5 Grammy® Awards along with multiple prestigious international accolades. Their entertaining live performances and appearances on popular film and TV soundtracks have garnered them generations of fans.

The concert will feature The Swingles’ trademark vocal dexterity and innate musicality. Their sound reimagines jazz, classical, folk, and pop from their ever-growing repertoire of arrangements alongside a rich vein of new original material. The group’s secret ingredient is the ability of the seven singers, soloists, songwriters, and storytellers to combine as one seamlessly blended and timeless sound.

“Whether it’s caroling, family singalongs, or a treasured album, music is an important part of the holidays, said Mark Blakeman, The McKnight Center’s Marilynn and Carl Thoma Executive Director. “The Swingles are known for their remarkable harmonies and extraordinary arrangements, and families around the world have made their recordings part of their holiday tradition. We’re thrilled to invite audiences to experience their live concert this year and make lasting memories with friends and family.”

The unmistakable sound of the Swingles has long been associated with Christmas, and audiences can look forward to music from five decades of holiday releases including their most recent holiday album ʻYule Songs vol. IIʼ. Alongside these seasonal specialties, the program includes favorite pieces from the group’s year-round touring repertoire.
