LexiCon Prop-weapon Guidelines for All Venues
Bladed weapons must
- not be made of metal or otherwise constructed of materials to make useful as an actual weapon
- not have a sharpened edge
- not have a sharp point
No pocket knives will be allowed
Projectile firing weapons must be either
- obviously non-functional (doesn’t shoot anything) or
- not harmful (just shoots Nerf) and unloaded
No real guns, Airsoft, BB, blow guns, Paintball guns, etc. allowed in!
No live ammunition is allowed at LexiCon.
Costume destructive devices (grenades, etc) must be
- obviously not real
- obviously not functional
Nothing explosive is allowed in any of the LexiCon buildings.
Archery
- Bows may have a string OR be accompanied by arrows (but not both)
- Any arrows must
- Have any sharp tips removed
- Be bound together in a quiver
NOTE: Staff have the final decision on whether a weapon is appropriate or not and have full discretion in denying weapon entry. Weapons denied entry must be returned to your car.

We are so excited to be bringing back LexiCon this year and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! For those of you who don’t know what LexiCon is, it’s the Stillwater Cultural District’s free mini-comic convention for fans of comic books, science fiction, gaming of all types, cosplay, anime, and pop culture. Related events are scheduled from Thursday, Oct. 24 through Saturday, Oct. 26, with the main event taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
This year’s event is truly a team effort with numerous organizations participating, including the Stillwater Community Center, the Stillwater Public Library, Prairie Arts Center, Visit Stillwater, Stonecloud Brewing, and the Stillwater History Museum at the Sheerar.
Pre-Con Events
· LexiConcert - Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 pm at Stillwater Community Center
The Stillwater Community Band will perform music from Star Wars, Star Trek, and Harry Potter.
· Zombie Prom - Friday, Oct. 25, 8 pm at Stonecloud
Dress up as the undead! There will be a costume contest with prizes, a makeup artist, live music, and plenty of spooky vibes.

- SHS and Fifth Grade Pop Culture Art Exhibit
- Cosplay Contest is at 4 pm. Top costume prizes will be awarded for kids (0-5th grade), teens (6th-12th grade), and adults (18 & over/no longer in high school). Winners will take home $100 gift cards to JoAnn Fabrics. Costumes must be PG-13 since this is a family-friendly event. Click here for the contest rules.
At Prairie Arts Center:
- Drawing Lessons: Lauren Oyer will be hosting a complimentary "how to draw" demonstration! Each hour will feature a different book character, beginning with Underdog at 11 a.m., followed by Harry Potter at 12 p.m., and the Cheshire Cat at 1 p.m. Every session will offer step-by-step guidance on how to bring each character to life.
- Make Up Demonstration: Makeup artist Jason Estala will showcase the art of gory makeup utilizing everyday items from 1 to 2 pm
- T-shirts: LexiCon screenprinted T-shirts on demand. Come screen-print your own T-shirt in our print studio! $20
- Check out our Book Character Gallery, which features original artwork by Sangre Ridge, Richmond, and Westwood Elementary schools’ fifth graders!
- Screenprinted Tattoos: Come in for a quick FREE screenprinted tattoo! We will have several of the LexiCon characters for you to choose from.
- Painting Demo: Join Mark Crow for a painting demonstration! Watch as he skillfully brings Yoda to life on his canvas.

- Dick Tracy Display and Museum Mysteries will open from 11 am – 5 pm. Come and see the iconic detective, Dick Tracy, and his life of fighting crime and uncovering mysteries at the Stillwater History Museum. The display will feature comic books, toys, and memorabilia from the Pawnee Historical Society. The Dick Tracy series was written and illustrated by Pawnee-born Chester Gould. The museum exhibits and spaces will have self-guide activities related to the theme.
Post-Con Events at Stonecloud

It's a cosplay costume contest but for pets! Dress your furry friend up as a superhero, anime character, or pop culture icon. Prizes will be awarded for the best pet costumes. - Cantina Band - Saturday, Oct. 26, 7 pm
