Overview
If you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and sweating a little bit to come and help get the facility ready. The About Face Women's Program will serve as a location for nonviolent female offenders to spend one year addressing their substance abuse, mental health, trauma behaviors while also learning cognitive behavioral and life skills. The following items inside and outside of the house that need work are: washing windows, handing curtains, putting away dishes' pots and pans, utting grass, trimming trees, and removing overgrowth away from the house. If anyone can power wash the outside of the house, we need that too, as well as fixing guttering. (Bring your work gloves and tools with you).Donations of Full-size comforters (15), towels and wash clothes, and pots and pans are needed.
The About Face Women's Program is a nonprofit organization with 501 (c)3 certification. All donations and financial support is welcome. The program provides these women with in-house educational opportunities, trauma based individual counseling, cognitive behavioral group therapy and accountability, co-dependency therapy and the development of daily life skills. Substance abuse issues are addressed with the treatment, 12-step programs and faith based counseling where desired. Successful completion of the program requires participants to choose a vocational skill and complete its training program geared toward future employment. Community mentors are assigned to assist participants as they transition back into the community.
