StorySLAM

Overview

Everyone has a story and we want to hear yours! Attend a StorySLAM, a live storytelling competition popularized by “The Moth.” Story topics should focus on experiences related to animals or art. Stories must be true, family-friendly, and they must be told from memory. This program is presented in partnership with Modella Art Gallery and will take place online via Zoom. Hopeful storytellers should prepare a 5-8 minute story to share group. The names of potential storytellers will be selected at random to tell their stories on the night of the event. A gift card will be awarded to the winning storyteller. Attendees will also receive a secret code to enter into BookPoints to get entered into a raffle drawing. Storytellers and attendees alike must register so we can make sure they get the Zoom invite to participate. Sign-up at: https://tinyurl.com/SPLStorySLAM. This program is part of the “NEA Tails and Tales” Virtual Summer Reading Program. Visit http://library.stillwater.org/summer_@_your_library.php to learn more. This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
