Rural Heritage Festival

The Rural Heritage Festival provides an educational and fun experience to the public that will increase awareness of the rural heritage of Oklahoma. Conducted throughout the day will be living history interpretations and various demonstrations to help visitors understand traditional skills and lifestyles associated with agriculture and rural communities. A few new attractions this year are the addition of a craft show, where only handmade items will be sold and a heritage quilt exhibit in the new Gallery room inside the museum.
Historical interpreters and Reenactors will include: Dutch Oven Cooking, Blacksmiths, Basket Weaving, Quilting, Lye Soap Making, Cowboy Camps and Gun Fighters.
There will be hands on activities such asCakewalks, Apple Bobbing and Peeling. Music will be provided by the Dulcimers which includes a variety of string instruments. There will be an interactive session of Rose Hill School at 11:30 for all ages to attend!
The events held at the Perry Cherokee Strip Museum are designed for families and for people of all ages. We are celebrating our community heritage and welcome everyone to join us for a day full of fun, food and learning!
