Each week participants will explore a different artist in depth, creating works inspired by their medium, subject matter, philosophy, and life. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects, and will be divided into a 6-10 year old age group and an 11-14 year old group. As always, kids will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand their understanding of art and the world around us! All supplies included. Students will need to bring a sack lunch, as well as a light snack for morning break. Students need to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get messy. Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle with the student’s name on it. 

This week will turn the spotlight on the renowned work and life of painter and collagist Henri Matisse. Like Matisse and his fellow Fauvists, camp will prioritize exuberant colors, fluid lines, and bold brush strokes. Campers will look to immediate environments for inspiration and, of course, take time to play with paper cut outs.
