Each week participants will explore a different artist in depth, creating works inspired by their medium, subject matter, philosophy, and life. Each 4 day camp will include a combination of two dimensional and three dimensional projects, and will be divided into a 6-10 year old age group and an 11-14 year old group. As always, kids will learn a lot, play, explore, and expand their understanding of art and the world around us! All supplies included. Students will need to bring a sack lunch, as well as a light snack for morning break. Students need to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get messy. Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle with the student’s name on it. 

The first week of camp will turn the spotlight on the vibrant, tactile, and three dimensional paintings of Alan Shields. Unlike many of the artists of his day, Shields was a maximalist, making works that celebrate the physicality of his labor and his materials. This will be a week of big works that just may drip with beads and baubles and bits!
