Paper Tigers: Film Screening & Discussion Panel

Overview

View Paper Tigers, a film focusing on one high school's unlikely success story, then listen to a discussion panel of professionals discuss adverse childhood experiences and how adults can help.

Discussion panel members include the 2018-2019 Oklahoma School Counselor of the Year, Sarah Kirk; OK State Department of Education Executive Director of Counseling Kristin Atchley; and a representative from Mental Health Association Oklahoma. The panel will be moderated by OSCA Board Member and School Counselor Michelle Sutherlin.

About Paper Tigers: "Set within and around the campus of Lincoln Alternative High School in the rural community of Walla Walla, Washington, Paper Tigers asks the following questions: What does it mean to be a trauma-informed school? And how do you educate teens whose childhood experiences have left them with a brain and body ill-suited to learn?"
