Overview
The Oklahoma State University Sports Media Summer Camp is an immersive experience for aspiring sports journalists and broadcasters. Open to students ages 16 and older, this unique camp provides hands-on training in play-by-play announcing, production, and sports writing led by experienced professors and professionals—including OSU’s own Dave Hunziker, the voice of the Cowboys.
Campers will participate in daily workshops focused on preparation, practice, and real-world application of media skills. Highlights include covering a live sporting event, creating play-by-play calls, and reporting for both broadcast and print platforms. Whether you're interested in being behind the mic or behind the scenes, this camp equips students with foundational experience in sports media.
Camp begins with check-in at OSU’s Village Suites residence halls at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, and concludes at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21. Overnight campers will stay in OSU housing, with all meals, transportation during camp, insurance, a camp shirt, and tuition included in the $825 fee. Day campers pay $725 and receive the same benefits minus housing.
