Overview
Adventure Camp at Lake McMurtry is designed to foster environmental stewardship among our youth. At camp we engage children by using outdoor fun to create pathways for lessons in environmental education, ecology, team building, and much more! All camp sessions are designed by professional educators and are perfect for the young and curious. Camp is entirely outdoors and creates the perfect environment for young explorers to engage in hands on learning. June 2 to June 27, Monday to Friday.
Campers will have weekly STEAM lessons and learn outdoor skills such as fishing, kayaking, backpacking, etc., along with activities based around their weekly theme.
Themes are as follows:
Week 1 - Eco Warriors (Campers will learn about Lake McMurtry's natural environment while practicing leave-no-trace skills and being eco-friendly.)
Week 2 - Water Wonders (Campers will experience a variety of fun, lake-related activities and learn how to care for our natural water sources.)
Week 3 - Survivor (Through team challenges, learning skills such as archery and shelter building, campers will get to learn and practice survival skills.)
Week 4 - Nature Detectives (Using analytical and observation skills, campers will get the opportunity to discover nature.)
Week 5 - Fantasy Forest (Campers will get to explore nature's mysterious and seemingly magical properties and use their imagination.)
Week 6 - Animal Defenders (Campers will learn about the importance of all animals in the ecosystem and the importance of being a good steward to the animals in our environment.)
