Come participate in a community art project titled Cherished Possessions. Bring a small object that you cherish to be photographed. Photos will be displayed as a part of the exhibition "In the Mind of a Collector" running through July 18, 2020.
The project invites viewers to think about the importance of certain objects in their lives, why they are so special, why they like to collect them, or keep them throughout their lives.
In the Mind of a Collector introduces a new category of art—industrial design, which includes everyday objects that we live with—furniture, kitchenware, electronics, toys, equipment, etc. The community art project seeks to make people more aware of the objects they surround themselves with, how they choose these things, why they throw away some and keep others.
Our goal is to include a wide variety of people of different ages and backgrounds to celebrate how much we have in common when it comes to our cherished possessions.
