Prairie Arts is excited to bring back the clay specific, half-day camps for our 11-14 year old artists! Students will explore the basic physical properties of clay by practicing a variety of hand-forming techniques, as well as throwing on the wheel, and glazing. Two days will be devoted to the completion of multiple hand built projects, one day to getting the feel of the wheel, and one day to glaze. Please note that students should not expect a completed form from their one day on the wheel. This is a time to play and practice, get dirty, and make mistakes! Due to the nature of the medium and the high temperature fires, student work is occasionally damaged or a loss. We use these rare instances to teach students resilience and persistence. We do not offer make up classes.
