5th Annual Chamber Music Festival Friday Program at The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts

Overview

Our popular Chamber Music Festival returns for its fifth season of incredible performances. Artistic Director and celebrated pianist Anne-Marie McDermott has selected a variety of moving works that will entertain classical aficionados and novices alike.

Friday's program includes Hummel's Piano Quintet in E flat. A composer highly regarded during his time as a prodigy on piano, this work showcases lyrical charm and subtle passion. Schubert’s “Trockne Blumen” is a singular virtuoso composition that features tremendously difficult passages for flute. Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio is symphonic in scale, alternating between soaring and euphoric and tragic and funereal.
