#OrangeGlow

Orange Glow with Logo

Join us again this year by participating in a new tradition and lighting up Stillwater as part of the #OrangeGlow campaign throughout the Oklahoma State University Cowboys football season.

Visit Stillwater has once again teamed up with OSU Athletics to encourage residents and businesses to switch their porch and outside lights to orange bulbs during the football season. Last year's response was overwhelming, and we anticipate that residents and visitors alike will appreciate the #OrangeGlow again this year.

The OSU and community-wide tradition originated from the orange glow visible from Boone Pickens Stadium the night before home football games over the past several seasons. Rather than adding lights only the night before home football games, we have extended it to the whole season and anticipate even more participation.

This year, we are also encouraging OSU alumni and fans to help us promote #OrangeInvasion in the destinations where OSU will play away games throughout the season. We would love to receive pictures of orange windows, wrapped trees, bushes, light poles, and more.

We also encourage you to utilize all of your orange Eskimo Joe’s cups to cover your existing outdoor string lights for a unique Stillwater #OrangeGlow decoration.

To promote participation, OSU Athletics and Visit Stillwater will share reminders on social media, as well as local TV and radio stations, encouraging everyone to join in the orange fun.

If you share pictures of your homes and businesses shining bright with orange on social media and #OrangeGlow and/or #OrangeInvasion, or email them to Cristy@VisitStillwater.org, we may add them to our website or use them as examples in our social posts leading up to each home football game.

Please share the #OrangeGlow concept with your family and friends so visitors to our community – especially our new Big 12 Conference teams – know they have entered America’s Friendliest College Town and The Original Home of Red Dirt Music. We encourage you to keep shining your orange throughout the weekend so they see the orange both entering and leaving our community.

We can’t wait to create a vibrant sea of orange across the city, visible for miles around. It's a powerful way to showcase our pride as America’s Brightest Orange! A big “Thank You” to Detrick Bombarger with OSU Athletics for championing #OrangeGlow as a new OSU Athletics tradition.
