Film and Broadway star Leslie Odom Jr. Closes The McKnight Center Season with Highly Anticipated Performance
(STILLWATER, Okla.)-- The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts at Oklahoma State University (OSU) announces An Evening with Leslie Odom Jr. as a highly anticipated closing performance to its 2022-2023 season on April 28, 29 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are now on sale.
Leslie Odom Jr. is a multifaceted Tony and Grammy Award-winning, three-time Emmy and two-time Academy Award-nominated vocalist, songwriter, author, and actor. With a career that spans all performance genres, Odom has received recognition for his excellence and achievements in Broadway, television, film, and music.
Well known for his breakout role as ‘Aaron Burr’ in the smash hit Broadway musical Hamilton, Odom will host an extraordinary performance featuring his favorite Broadway tunes, hits from his debut solo album, which quickly rose to number one on the Billboard and iTunes Jazz charts, and more.
Odom says to bring the whole family to the concert. “Not everybody got to travel to New York to see Hamilton, so I'm coming to Oklahoma,” said Odom. “I’m going to do your favorites from Hamilton, some Same Cooke songs, some songs from other places in my career. It’s going to be a fantastic show and I'm so excited. I’m not going to let you down; you’ll leave with a smile on your face.”
Since opening in 2019 The McKnight Center has presented a number of intimate concerts headlined by Broadway icons, including Bernadette Peters, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Megan Hilty. “We are thrilled to welcome Leslie Odom Jr. to The McKnight Center stage,” said Mark Blakeman, the Marilynn and Carl Thoma Executive Director of The McKnight Center. “Leslie has a vast repertoire, and he delivers a charismatic performance that we know will captivate our audience. We can’t think of a more appropriate way to close out our 2022-2023 season than these two incredible performances with Leslie.”
