(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / February 21, 2019) – The Oklahoma State wrestling team earned six spots on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 team, the conference office announced Thursday. The list was highlighted with first-team honoree Jonce Blaylock and three other repeat selections from previous academic all-conference teams. 

 

The nod marks Blaylock’s second consecutive first-team bid. First team members must maintain a 3.20 GPA or better. The Berryhill, Okla. native is majoring in secondary education and social studies and is set to graduate this May. 

 

Claiming second-team honors for the Pokes are Kaid Brock, Daton Fix, Andrew Marsden, Geo Martinez and Derek White. It marks Brock, Marsden and Martinez’s second academic conference honors. Brock earned his first bid in 2017 and Marsden and Martinez garnered their honors in 2018.

 

Second team selections are required to hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulative or the previous two semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of the team’s scheduled contests.
