(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / April 2, 2019) – Oklahoma State baseball will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its 1959 NCAA championship team with a number of activities and promotions during this weekend’s series against West Virginia at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

On Friday, the first 500 fans will receive a 1959 replica “shirsey” (jersey T-shirt), and the great-grandson of 1959 OSU All-American pitcher Joel Horlen will throw out the first pitch. Friday’s series opener is scheduled for a 6:05 p.m. start.

Saturday’s game day promotion will be a replica 1959 national championship ring, which will be given out to the first 1,000 fans, and players from the 1959 club and their families will be recognized on the field at 1:50 p.m. prior to the game’s start at 2:05 p.m.

On Sunday, players from the 1959 team will be signing autographs and commemorative posters near the front gate at Reynolds Stadium from 10:45 a.m-11:50 p.m. before the game’s noon start.

Players from the 1959 team expected to attend this weekend include Bob Andrew, Ben Bancroft, Connie McIlvoy, Jim Mihura, Mike Mulvihil, Roy Peterson, Dick Soergel, Tim Smalley and Lew Wade.

The Cowboys have been wearing 1959 throwback uniforms throughout the 2019 season to honor the 60th anniversary of the NCAA title team.
