(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Sept. 22, 2014) — The public is welcome to attend and watch as electric line workers compete in the 2014 Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma Line Workers Rodeo on Thursday, Oct. 2 at Boomer Lake Park.
The public can watch several municipal electric utility crews from across the state as they compete with each other in various obstacle courses demonstrating their skills and abilities used on a daily basis.
"We encourage people to come out during the competition," said Stillwater Electric Utility Distribution Superintendent Vernon Hall. "We would like people to see different line crews in action displaying their skills and abilities in courses from hurt man rescue operation to mutual aid events."
Opening ceremonies will start at 8 a.m. and the competition activities will begin after opening ceremonies conclude.
Public parking will be available on the west side of Boomer Lake Park. Spectators can enter the park at the Washington Street entrance.
