Modella Gallery is pleased to present Plein Air Adventure, an exhibit of work by three Stillwater artists, Jude Tolar, Jill Weber, and Jeff Williams. The exhibition runs Oct. 13-Nov.12, 2022, with the artist reception from 5:30- 7 pm, Thu., Oct. 13. The three artists will be on hand Sun., Oct. 16, for the artist talk to discuss their process and inspiration of their work.
“Plein air” refers to painting outdoors from life. “En plein air” is French for “in the open air.” While plein air painting became common during the time of the Impressionists, in the last two decades plein air painting has rapidly become an activity enjoyed by numerous professional painters and novices alike, especially in the USA.
While Tolar, Weber, and Williams create “en Plein air” they each come with different goals in mind and practice in different mediums including pastel, oil, and watercolor.
Modella Gallery is a non-profit art gallery dedicated to bringing contemporary arts to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
