STILLWATER – In its fall season finale, the Oklahoma State softball team beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 11-0 at Cowgirl Stadium on Thursday evening.
With the win, the Cowgirls ended the 2022 fall slate a perfect 8-0. OSU outscored their opponents 94-24, including back-to-back shutouts in its last two games against Seminole State and Tulsa.
Lexi Kilfoyl got the nod in the circle. The former Crimson Tide pitcher struck out four of the nine batters she faced in three no-hit innings.
The Cowgirls turned to Bailie Runner in the circle who pitched two scoreless innings and tallied three strikeouts.
Offense was hard to come by on both sides through the first five innings of the 10-inning exhibition. The Cowgirls were the first to break the scoreless stalemate with an RBI fielder’s choice from Kiley Naomi in the sixth inning.
The Pokes’ bats came to life in the eighth as they poured on nine runs, highlighted by an Alexx Waitman two-RBI single and a three-RBI double from Claire Timm to put the Cowgirls up comfortably, 11-0.
In as the Cowgirls’ closer for the final two innings, freshman Kyra Aycock pitched two hitless innings to round out Oklahoma State’s fall season.
