OSU Cross Country Returns Home to Host NCAA Midwest Regional Championships

THE BASICS

Oklahoma State cross country enters the NCAA Midwest Regional each ranked in the top 5 for just the second time in program history. Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls have been ranked inside the top 6 all season and are looking to punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater.

Run IT Back

The Cowboys enter the Midwest Regional meet hot off their dominant victory at the Big 12 Championships two weeks ago. OSU picked up its fourth straight conference title on the men's side with all five scorers placing in the top 10. The Cowboys have been ranked No. 2 in every poll this season, with the latest poll separating OSU and Northern Arizona by just a single first-place vote. All-Americans Alex Maier, Fouad Messaoudi and Victor Shitsama will join freshman superstars Brian Musau and Denis Kipngetich, who have each secured a meet victory this season with Musau taking home the Big 12 individual title.

The Cowgirls are coming off a second-place finish at the conference meet after a heated battle with No. 3 BYU. Taylor Roe became the first-ever Big 12 Champion on the grass for the Cowgirls and is joined by Cowboy Jamboree Champion Billah Jepkirui and All-Americans Molly Born and Gabija Galvydyte. Both the OSU men and women have been ranked No. 1 in the region all season and need to finish second or better at the regional meet to automatically clinch their spot at nationals.
