(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / September 22, 2017) – Oklahoma State fans have purchased season tickets in record numbers this year. As of 11 a.m. on Friday, September 22, Cowboy fans have purchased 50,354 season tickets in 56,790-seat Boone Pickens Stadium to surpass the existing record of 50,223 set in 2013.
OSU’s first two home games of the 2017 “SEAson of Orange” both sold out. Should Cowboy fans continue to come out at 100 percent of capacity, they would break the existing mark of 98.2 percent of capacity, which was set in 2013.
“What a great accomplishment for our fans to show record-setting support for Oklahoma State football like this,” Athletic Director Mike Holder said. “There is a quote from Boone Pickens by the meeting rooms that the players go in every day that says ‘We’ve built the best to be the best. What we need now is to win and fill ‘er up.’ This has become reality for us thanks to the combination effort of Coach Gundy, Mr. Pickens, the players and our fans.”
Since 2008, the Cowboys are 51-12 at home, including an undefeated home season in 2011 and one-loss home slates in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2016. The Cowboys have emerged as one of the most successful and entertaining football teams in the Big 12 and in the nation during that time.
Season tickets can still be purchased through the OSU ticket office online at okstate.com/tickets or by calling 1-877-ALL-4-OSU. Being a season ticket holder is the only way to attend the Nov. 4 Bedlam game. Single-game tickets are available for purchase for the Cowboys’ remaining home games against Baylor, Kansas State and Kansas.
