STILLWATER, Okla. – Our idea of "gathering" has changed wildly in the past two years.

Since the pandemic, we’ve been introduced to new platforms, adjusted to new rhythms and wrestled with the challenges associated with connecting with people when life gets in the way. At a time when coming together is more important than ever, it’s critical that we turn lackluster and unproductive gatherings into meaningful, memorable experiences.

On September 15, Marcy Luter will present “The New Rules of Gathering: How to Plan Any Occasion with Purpose” as part of the Recharge: A Series for Women programming offered by Meridian Technology Center and the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

This session will help attendees rethink and transform their next meeting, party, play date or work event and will offer simple, specific changes to invigorate any group experience.

As a Project Manager in Meridian’s Workforce and Economic Development division, Luter works with businesses and organizations of all kinds to meet their goals through training and other educational opportunities for their most significant asset ... their human resources. Her areas of expertise include personal effectiveness and time management, playing to your strengths, communication skills and team dynamics. Marcy holds a bachelor’s in agricultural communications from Oklahoma State University, and she is a certified facilitator and trainer for FranklinCovey, Gallup’s CliftonStrengths assessment, Development Dimensions International, AchieveGlobal and Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Recharge is designed to connect women and offer them an opportunity to learn, laugh and grow together. This series tackles issues that can be challenging for women and give them an outlet to explore and consider solutions to the challenges they face … with other women there to brainstorm with and encourage them.

Recharge sessions meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stillwater Community Center. Registration is $20 and includes lunch. Stillwater Medical is the presenting sponsor for this series. Chickasaw Telecommunications is the luncheon sponsor for the session, and Coldwell Banker – Connie Stokes is the registration sponsor.
