(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / July 7, 2022) – The Stillwater Public Library's (SPL) summer reading program sails into July with Mad Science on Tuesday, July 12, and a rescheduled magic show with Kevin Wade on Saturday, July 16. All programs will be held outside in the library's north parking lot and begin at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, July 12, Mad Science will dive deep into ocean facts. Attendees will learn about sea creatures and what they can do to help protect the ocean.
"Everyone who comes to see Mad Science is sure to learn something new," Murray said. "Prepare to be curious, amazed and ocean conscious!"
Attendees will learn all about the ocean, including fun details about sea creatures and tips for what everyone can do to help protect the ocean.
Then, on Saturday, July 16, is Kevin Wade's rescheduled magic show. Wade's magic tricks will feature a water and ocean theme, and he will also promote reading and literacy through ocean tales and exploration stories.
"There's a reason why Wade is Stillwater's favorite magician," Murray said. "There's always a lot of audience participation, surprises and fun!"
The library encourages the audience to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on, water to drink and to wear plenty of sunscreen. Library staff will immediately post information about canceled or postponed programs on the library website. Participants are encouraged to check library.stillwater.org before coming to the library for an event. Updates will also be posted on library social media channels @StillwaterOKLib.
